Universal's
Royal Pacific Resort is the newest of Universal's on property
offerings. Located alongside Islands of Adventure, this
resort is themed around the tropical nation of Bali in
the South Pacific. Grotto beaches, lush landscape, and
unique appointments make the resort a charming addition
to Universal's line up.
Among
the amenities offered at the resort are a Lagoon style
swimming pool with beach area and interactive water play
area,
The Mariner's Club supervised children's program,
5 Restaurants and lounges, including Emeril Lagasse's
new Tchoup Chop restaurant and a workout area.
Some
have suggested that this resort is Universal's answer
to Disney's Polynesian resort. If that's the case, than
it pales in comparison. Disney's Polynesian offers a much
greater 'polynesian' experience, better landscaping and
better overall theming. Do not go to this resort expecting
it to be on par with that experience. Instead, we suggest
that you keep an open mind, and allow the resort to stand
on it's own merits.
Many
of our visitors have stayed at the Royal Pacific and have
given it rave reviews. Here are a few of the comments
found on our discussion boards (you can read more detail
on our Universal
Trip Reports forum):
"We
had a 2-night stay at the RPH and we have only good things
to say about it. I thought the decor, inside and out,
was beautiful. I especially liked the thatched huts around
the pool and all the tropical vegetation.
The walkway to the parks and City Walk was very nice --
we preferred walking, though the water taxi was nice,
too.
If you go to the RPH, be sure to get the Loew's card.
Coming back to our room and finding 2 pitchers of ice-cold
milk and 2 plates of cookies was one of the highlights
of our stay!! (And take your AAA card if you have one
because you'll get discounts in the hotel and in the parks
-- restaurants, shops, etc.)"
"Theming
is great. Beautiful grounds. Really spacious pool with
a water play area for kids that shoot and spray water."
